About Eppeltree
Eppeltree is a hideaway cabin for nature-loving couples in the beautiful hiking region Müllerthal Luxembourg. Set in an orchard within a nature reserve in Eppeldorf, with a breathtaking view into the sunset, you are literally only steps away from the Müllerthal Trail. Eppeltree is part of a reconverted farmhouse built in 1842, set on top of the hill above the small, tucked-away village of Eppeldorf. The orchard surrounding the house lies in a protected nature reserve, with lots of Rambour apple trees, which is a traditional apple sort in the area. Each apple harvest we pick the apples and pears and have them pressed to our delicious "Eppeljuice" at Eppelpress, a local farm & juicery in Eppeldorf. So it's all about "Eppels", hence the name "Eppeltree" ! Next to apples, the orchard has also pears, cherries, mirabelles, prunes, elderberries, blackberries, currants, hazelnuts and walnuts. Besides making up for great cakes and marmelades, the fruit feeds an abundance of insects and birds, and wildlife can sometimes be seen roaming the orchard and surrounding. Keep your eyes open !
The Cabin
The Eppeltree cabin is a hideaway for couples, with everything you need for a comfy and romantic stay as close to nature as you can get. The cabin has a Queen-size bed with lots of storage, digital TV and Wifi, an on-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet, as well as a separate. fully equipped kitchen with all modern appliances. Bedding and towels are provided. Let us know if you need to wash or dry clothes, store a bike, or charge an E-bike. We can cater for most needs.
Also part of the equipment: outdoors furniture, BBQ with coal, firepan & firewood, it’s all there.
The cabin has room for 2 persons only, with 2 nights minimum stay. Smoking and pets are not allowed inside the cabin.

Around Eppeltree
Eppeltree has a stunning natural surrounding around the house, enjoy the views, particularly at sunset. Right behind Eppeltree, you’ll have access to the forest and a number of premium hiking trails through the region, among which the certified Müllerthal trail, which is less than 500m away.
Check the pictures for the stunning rocks and landscapes of the Müllerthal. Feel free to ask further info for stunning spots and hikes, bicycle or bike routes, scenic drives, or any other places to visit, eat, drink & chill.

You can also use free public transport to get to and from Eppeltree, we have a busstop right outside our door, with regular service towards Echternach and Ettelbruck on an hourly basis.

General rental conditions
- No smoking, no parties, no pets (sorry!)
- Only 2 persons. Exceptions can only be made for infants up to 18 months.
- Minimum 2 nights bookings.
- Booking requests will become definite bookings once a 50% advance payment has been received in our bank account within 7 days of booking. The remainder should be paid 14 days prior to arrival. Each time guests will receive a confirmation email. No deposit needed.
- Check-in 15h00 (-24h00 self-check-in); check-out 11h00.
- Free parking outside the gate (leftside).
- Free public transport, bus stop “op den Gruechten” right outside the house (line 191).
- Cancellation policy:
- In order to receive a full refund, guests must cancel the booking at least 30 days prior to check-in.
- If less than 30 days but at least 7 days prior to check-in, you will receive a refund of 50% of the booking amount for all nights booked.
- No refund if guest cancels less than 7 days prior to arrival date.
- Guests can also receive a full refund if they cancel within 48 hours of booking and have at least 14 days remaining until check-in

About Eppeltree
Eppeltree is a romantic, close-to-nature hideaway cabin for couples, tucked beside a converted 1842 farmhouse in Eppeldorf, in Luxembourg’s Müllerthal region (“Little Switzerland”). It sits in the middle of a protected nature reserve, surrounded by our own apple orchard, with a breathtaking view into the sunset.
We’re at 19, Beforterstrooss, L-9365 Eppeldorf, Luxembourg — in the Müllerthal hiking region, about 500m from the Müllerthal Trail, a short walk from the village of Beaufort, and around 40 minutes from Luxembourg City by car.
Couples. We built and furnished Eppeltree specifically as a two-person hideaway — nature-loving couples, hikers, and anyone looking for a quiet, romantic escape rather than a family or group getaway.
Eppeltree accommodates a maximum of 2 guests. It’s a private, self-contained cabin for just the two of you (we do make rare exceptions for infants up to 18 months).
“Eppel” is the local Luxembourgish dialect word for “apple.” The cabin sits among the traditional apple trees of our orchard, and each year we harvest the fruit ourselves to make homemade “Eppeljuice” — which many guests find waiting for them on arrival.
Eppeltree is a single, private accommodation — never shared with other guests — set inside a genuine nature reserve with direct trail access. Guests regularly tell us the combination of privacy, quiet, and setting feels less like a rental and more like a private nest in nature.
The Cabin & Amenities
A queen-size bed with storage, a private ensuite bathroom (shower, sink, toilet) reserved exclusively for you, and a separate, fully-equipped kitchen for self-catering. Heating and electricity are included as standard, and everything is included in the rental price — right down to bed linen and towels, which guests often mention. Free parking for your car is included as well.
Yes — Eppeltree has its own fully-equipped kitchen in a separate room with its own entrance, so you can cook your own meals throughout your stay. Little extras are included too — a toaster, hairdryer, tea and coffee, and basic cooking supplies (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, and more).

Yes, free Wi-Fi is included throughout your stay, along with a dedicated workspace if you need to get some work done while you’re here.

No, we don’t allow pets at Eppeltree, to keep the space comfortable for every guest and respectful of the surrounding nature reserve. Smoking and parties aren’t permitted either.
Very likely, and most guests love it. Eppeltree sits inside a nature reserve, so you’ll often spot birds, hares, deer, foxes, badgers, and even sheep grazing in the orchard. There’s also a beehive nearby, so bees, wasps, and hornets pass through occasionally — never a nuisance, but worth knowing if you or your partner have allergies or an insect phobia.
Yes, washing and drying can be arranged on request for a small additional fee, along with extra storage if you need it. Safe bicycle storage is available too.
Location & Activities
Yes — that’s one of its biggest draws. The cabin is about 500m from the Müllerthal Trail, and you can walk directly from the cabin into the forest and onto marked trails, including the stretch that passes Beaufort Castle.
It’s Luxembourg’s premier long-distance hiking network, winding through the Müllerthal region’s dramatic rock formations, forests, and streams — often nicknamed “Little Switzerland.” Eppeltree gives you direct, walk-out-the-door access to it.
of Beaufort — just a few minutes away — has a supermarket, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, restaurants, an outdoor pool, an ice rink, and Beaufort Castle. Vianden and Berdorf are both roughly a 15-minute drive for day trips, and canoeing on the river Sûre is possible nearby too, depending on the season and water levels.
Yes — a bus stop named “op den Gruechten” sits right outside the property, with service roughly every hour to Echternach and Ettelbruck. Check www.mobiliteit.lu for the best connections — public transport is free throughout the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Not strictly, but it helps. The immediate area (Beaufort, the trail network) is walkable, and public transport can get you further. For day trips to Vianden, Berdorf, or Luxembourg City, a car or e-bike makes things easier.
Both cities are about 40 minutes away by car, making it an easy countryside escape without being far from city life. Luxembourg City and Trier both have rich historic backgrounds, a mix of historic and modern architecture, and all the comforts of a city break — arts, culture, gastronomy, shopping, and more.

Check-in is from 15:00, with self check-in available any time up to midnight. Check-out is by 11:00.
Self check-in via a door lockbox — no need to meet anyone or wait around. You’ll receive your door code by SMS ahead of arrival, so you can settle in on your own schedule.
Choose your check-in and check-out dates on our online booking calendar at eppeltree.com. A 50% advance payment is due within 7 days of booking, with the remaining balance due 14 days before arrival — no separate security deposit is required.
Full refund if you cancel 30+ days before check-in; 50% refund for cancellations 7–30 days before; no refund within 7 days of arrival. If you cancel within 48 hours of booking (and your stay is still 14+ days away), you’ll also receive a full refund.
